From Zug to Milan: ZIBR Engages on Blockchain and AI Regulation

The summit covered current legal questions at the intersection of digital finance, AI, and regulation: DeFi oversight, liability of AI agents, supervision of crypto-assets and stablecoins, and the tokenization of assets and CBDCs. ZIBR was represented by Prof. Dr. Max Baumgart, Asst.-Prof. Dr. Claude Humbel, and Asst.-Prof. Dr. Markus Schreiber, and contributed two sessions to the program. Ass.-Prof. Dr. Claude Humbel chaired the panels on "AI Agents and Consumer Law" and "AI, Health, and the Protection of Human Vulnerability" on Tuesday. Ass.-Prof. Dr. Markus Schreiber spoke on "Blockchain Technology and Swiss Data Protection Law."

Several ZIBR doctoral researchers: Massimo Dedini, Christoph Engel-Bunsas, and Simon Jud joined the summit and used the occasion to exchange with researchers from the partner institutions.

The Milan summit underscores ZIBR's close and continuous collaboration with leading international research institutions working on the law and regulation of digital technologies. Beyond the sessions themselves, it offered a valuable platform for exchange with peers on current developments in blockchain, artificial intelligence, and financial market law.
