Dr. Ge (Luna) Zhang is an emerging scholar working at the intersection of law and finance, with a focus on Fintech regulation and comparative commercial law.
She holds a Doctor of Juridical Science (J.S.D.), an LL.M. in Taxation, an LL.M. in U.S. Common Law, and a Master of Legal Studies (M.L.S.), all from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law, as well as an LL.B. and a Bachelor of Administration from China University of Political Science and Law. Her research interests span commercial law and financial regulation, including Fintech law, comparative commercial law, capital markets law, and information privacy, data protection and governance.
Dr. Zhang has published widely on Fintech regulation and comparative commercial law, including a monograph on privacy frameworks in big data credit reporting (Springer Nature), a book chapter on central bank digital currencies, and further work in Chinese law journals.
At ZIBR, Dr. Zhang researches stablecoin regulation. Her project, "Stable or Unstable at the Edge of Law: A Comparative Study of Stablecoin Regulations in Switzerland and the Chinese Financial System," compares legislative approaches in the two jurisdictions and proposes solutions to the risks stablecoin projects pose.
