With 1,766 active blockchain companies, Crypto Valley continues to grow while transitioning into a more mature phase of ecosystem development. This evolution reinforces the importance of rigorous, interdisciplinary research to better understand structural dynamics, societal implications, and long-term economic impact.
Within the framework of the Blockchain Zug – Joint Research Initiative, the Zug Institute for Blockchain Research (ZIBR), in collaboration with the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU) and with support from the Canton of Zug, conducts research aimed at developing a comprehensive understanding of blockchain technologies and their role in the broader socio-economic context.
Selected findings from this research have been incorporated into the 2025 report, including analyses related to societal perception, economic adoption, and industry development.
